Ms.
Hermine Dervartanian established Mideast
Translation & Consulting in 2000. A native of Syria
and Lebanon, her translation/interpretation experience
started in 1983 when she was appointed as the official
English/Arabic translator of the President of Gezairi
Transport Headquarters in Beirut, Lebanon. Gezairi
Transport is one of the leading international freight
forwarding and shipping companies in the Middle East.

In the
United States, 1995-2000, Ms. Dervartanian has
translated materials as bilingual staff and as a
free-lance translator for the Arab Community Center for
Economic & Social Services.

She has
developed bilingual Public Service Announcements,
bilingual brochures on Domestic Violence and Tobacco
Prevention, translated for the courts and Dearborn
Police Department, translated research tools and press
articles, reviewed bilingual translated materials on
AIDS, Prenatal care, STD, and hosted bilingual TV
programs on Good Evening Michigan, Channel 15.

In
2002-2004, at Oakwood Hospital and Medical Center,
Dearborn, Michigan, Ms. Dervartanian established
the Clinical Language Assistance Support Services
(CLASS) Department for the Limited English Proficiency (LEP)
patients. As Director of CLASS, she trained medical
interpreters.

Ms.
Dervartanian holds a Bachelor Degree in Business
Administration from the American University of Beirut,
Lebanon and a Paralegal Honors Certificate from the
School of Paralegal
Studies, Atlanta, Georgia.

She is
trilingual Arabic/English/Armenian, with fair knowledge
of French and German.
